Give me a portion of your heart

"Som Besdoang Muy Chomnek " -- Give me a portion of your heart. This song was first released at least 5 years ago. And now song is banned by Mrs. Bun Rany Hun Sen . Read the news and comments here . When the song is banned, that would make it even more popular. Here's Khmer lyrics of the song and the video I found on Youtube.

Hello again Vannak,

I watched part of the video for this song, and I must say that the camera man was only interested in two things only- her breasts! He kept zooming in to her mid-section. Anyone would think that if you are filming someone singing, you film their face to see the expressions they give to the song. But this guy wanted his audience to see how her breasts were. I am disappointed in this treatment. Khmer people have suffered enough exploitation without some of our own adding to it. I am a man, and yes I do look at women's body, whether in videos or in the streets. But I do it discreetly. This camera man is not discreet, and he does not give credits to her singing. Most childish and almost perverted. I think Khmer women have endured enough discrimination. What this man does is make the woman a sexual object rather than a singer. I don't think it is right.

At the moment I don't agree or dis-agree with the ban- I am still thinking about it. But you have to say that it is quite obviously an exploitation of her body rather than voice and face.

Good point, Battambang !
I never thought of what you said at all. When I first saw the video I only thought one thing. She's very pretty !! The cameraman is bold to have recorded something like this. Now since you put it this way, my perception has changed a little bit. True, the guy may have had portrayed her as a sex object.

But to me, our Khmer girl has not changed a bit. She is still beautiful !! :)

Hmm.. I didn't think it's that serious that the video really portray sexual look. You have to understand that in the entertainment industry, look and impression really matter to attract audiences. In Cambodian community, it's rare to see someone like this singer Molina.

As a Cambodian woman myself, I never feel discriminate by anyone but to receive admiration by others. I don't think our Khmer women characteristic have changed. Our traditional rules and manner still embedded in our hearts.

Great to here from another perspective of a Cambodian woman. From the video, Molina seems to enjoy the attention as being the entertainer. She really have gained my respect and admiration.

Thanks for your visiting and comment.

Thank you Wanna & Chharda for your visit and comments.

I didn't know this until I read it the other day that back in the 1980's our government also banned the two រាំវង់ songs "បែកក្អមអូនហើយ" and "ចង់បានប្តីដប់" --- This is so comical of our government. Don't they have anything else to do ?

9:38 Does it ever come to your mind that only the fat and fugly alway complaining. And why are you commenting on the video? Shouldn't you be comment on Buny Rani banning the song.

how can they ban បែកក្អមអូនហើយ? that song has been around for many many years! and I never hear of any complaints from Khmer elders or the general members of the community that the song negatively impact the people. I never thought that a Prime Minister's wife have the right to ban this and that as she pleases, she's not in parliament; that woman is just like her husband.

Vannak,

Are you every day worshipping only women's breasts? Why nothing else besides this gorgeous singer with a hot body and her size 34C in your website?

For your INFO, a lot of Cambodian American girls have the same as Molina does. Close your silly eyes, boy.

Shame on you.
